Anritsu Releases 4-Channel Oscilloscope Option For BERTWave All-In-One Test Solution

Extends Product Line for Faster Development and Manufacturing of 100G/400G Optical Modules Used in Emerging Applications

Anritsu Company introduces a 4-channel sampling oscilloscope option for its BERTWave MP2110A, creating a comprehensive single-instrument solution that integrates an oscilloscope and 100G BERT. With the option, the BERTWave can cost-efficiently and accurately evaluate the physical layer performance of 100G/400G optical transceiver modules, active optical cables (AOCs), direct attach cables (DAC), and high-speed optical devices used in data centers, core/metro networks, 4G/5G mobile backhaul, and 5G mobile fronthaul.

The BERTWave MP2110A, with the sampling oscilloscope option installed, supports various technologies, including NRZ/PAM4 signalling formats, as well as different wavelengths. It can be used by engineers in development and manufacturing environments to ensure products and systems comply with a variety of transmission standards, including Ethernet, eCPRI/RoE, CPRI, SDH/SONET, OTN, InfiniBand, and Fibre Channel. It is built on a flexible platform that can be easily upgraded to meet the testing requirements of future technologies, as well.

With its advanced hardware and software, the BERTWave MP2110A can test as many as four channels or individual channels simultaneously. As a result, the all-in-one solution can efficiently validate multichannel optical modules, as well as multiple single-channel modules to create highly efficient evaluation environments.

The built-in oscilloscope and BERT solution allows engineers to select 1, 2, or 4 channels, so it can be used during development and manufacturing of 100G/400G optical devices. The new sampling oscilloscope has best-in-class sensitivity supporting wide optical signal analysis from 25 Gbaud NRZ to 53 Gbaud PAM4 with a built-in clock recovery option. Though cost-efficient, the BERTWave produces high-quality waveforms and has sensitivity typically associated with R&D models. It also has a standard built-in clock recovery and PC to conduct fast, stable measurements.

With the introduction of the 4-channel sampling oscilloscope option, Anritsu further extends its line of test solutions promoting development and production of optical modules.
