By Altair Engineering Inc

Automotive radars are used on vehicles to help adjust the distance between vehicles and/or alert the driver when dangerous situations arise. Automotive OEM’s now include several safety systems covered by several sensors to reach the industry’s 5 stars’ level safety standards. These safety systems are designed with several antenna architectures in complex bumper/car chassis environments where the side effects, such as vibrations, become more and more significant on the radar performances. This application note presents how vibration effects can be calculated with Altair’s HyperWorks solver suite. Download the article for examples and calculations.
