High-Reliability Coils
Coil-Q CorporationAny coil that we design and manufacture for the purpose of hi-rel applications are RoHS and EU compliant in all CQC part numbers, and are space qualified.
A coil with a High Q rating does not necessarily guarantee good filter performance on its own. The stability of the circuit under varying temperature conditions is absolutely critical. Hi-Rel Coils should be held to the highest standards possible.
At Coil Q, being experts in manufacturing rugged surface mount, precision, stable, mil-standard, low and high temperature resolderable inductive components for Hi-Rel applications is something we truly pride ourselves on, and it's something we've been doing since 1968.
It's not just our years of experience that make us the ideal go-to source for hi-rel related projects. The fact that we measure temperature coefficient (TC) even though it is not easily controllable over a production run sets us apart from other coil companies. (Not only do we measure this parameter, we also guarantee it to be less than 30 PPM/Degrees C for the Q2 version and under 35 PPM/Degrees C for the miniature Q3 and Q3SMT type.)
Materials features for our Hi-Rel Coils are as follows:
- Pins are tin plated
- Coil base is made of temperature resistant DAP.
- Coil form is made of glass woven polyester
- The core structure of the coil consists of cup core and a threaded center core which combine to give good magnetic
- Both core elements are made of powdered iron to minimize performance variation with temperature.
- Electrostatic shield consists of a tin plated copper can.
