An area monitor is a device that operates much like a smoke detector. In this case the SMARTS II is a second generation monitor that constantly monitors for RF fields over a 2 MHz to 100 GHz frequency range.

An area monitor is a device that operates much like a smoke detector. In this case the SMARTS II is a second generation monitor that constantly monitors for RF fields over a 2 MHz to 100 GHz frequency range.
The SMARTS II monitor is powered by a battery or an external DC (12 or 24 VDC) supply and has built-in audible, visual and electronic relay alarms. These models are used in many high power production or test areas where high power RF is present, but not normally radiated. If a leak should develop, that is detected by the monitor, alarms are generated. As with other Narda broadband detectors, units are shaped to the major international standards or guidance's. Narda also offers weatherproof enclosures for outdoor applications.
