Spiral Antennas Nurad offers cavity backed spirals with a variety of package and performance options. These Archimedean spirals employ very broadband balun feed networks and are available in right- and left-hand polarizations. Current spiral designs provide frequency coverage in discrete bands from 200 MHz to 40 GHz and diameters from greater than 30 inches to less than 1 inch. Typical antennas operate continuously over bands such as 2 to 18 GHz and 18 to 40 GHz, while maintaining excellent radiation pattern characteristics and low axial ratio. Nurad also offers extended band spirals to meet special customer requirements. Phase and amplitude tracking characteristics can be incorporated and matched sets can be provided for specific applications. The cavity backed spiral antenna's rugged construction and lightweight, moisture sealed design make it well suited for the extreme conditions of airborne platforms, and typical applications include RWR and direction finding systems for both airborne and shipboard systems.

Data Links Atlantic Microwave provides strategic and tactical data link antenna systems for military operations on multiple platforms throughout the world. Supplying antennas for such high-performance applications requires superior design and manufacturing experience coupled with a keen understanding of end user needs. As our customers can attest, Atlantic Microwave has all of these attributes and more. Atlantic has developed a family of data link antennas used in real-time relay of information for reconnaissance and surveillance purposes, such as quick-deploy man portable terminals, multi-function shipboard systems and high-mobility trailer mounted surface terminals. Our Tactical Interoperable Common Data Link (TIGDL) antenna is a highly mobile interoperable Common Data Link (CDL) surface terminal which satisfies the CDL Class I specification for full waveform support of both CDL Command and Return Link data rates.

Embedded UAV Antennas Innovative embedded antennas have been developed to provide superior alternatives to conventional blade antennas for UAV datalink, telemetry, command and control applications. Blade antennas increase aerodynamic drag, increase weight, provide less than optimal antenna performance, and are damage prone. Embedded antennas can be integrated within the composite structure of UAVs and other aircraft, and thereby eliminate these disadvantages by providing a lightweight, conformal RF solution with improved link performance and increased component integration. Chelton Microwave Sensor & Antenna Systems currently offers embedded antennas that operate in the UHF, L-Band, S-Band or C-Band frequency ranges. These antennas provide omni-directional coverage in the azimuth plane and are optimized for gain near the horizon. For example, one L-Band version operates over the 1700-1900 MHz frequency range with a VSWR of 2.0:1 maximum, peak gain of +3 dBiL minimum, and occupies only 8 square inches of surface area. Versions of these antennas are available for integration into either horizontal surfaces (wings) and into vertical surfaces (stabilizers).

Radar & Tracking Antennas Atlantic provides a wide range of Radar and Tracking Antennas as well as custom integrated front-end assemblies. The model RAD1601 is a 12 foot diameter parabolic reflector and feed system designed for precision radar tracking systems. Operating in X-Band at 8.5 to 9.6 GHz, the feed system utilizes an eight horn feed and monopulse comparator network to provide outputs for a 3-channel monopulse receiver. The reflector is of aluminum construction. It is manufactured in one section. The reflector includes provision to mount the cassegrain feed at the vertex and provision to interface to the support pedestal. The reflector surface is fabricated from stretch-formed aluminum sheet that accurately conforms to the parabolic contour.
