Stanford engineers have developed experimental stickers that pick up physiological signals emanating from the skin, then wirelessly beam these health readings to a receiver clipped onto clothing. It’s all part of a system called BodyNet.
Optical fibres are our global nervous system, transporting terabytes of data across the planet in the blink of an eye.
5G represents an exponential increase in technical complexity with challenges coming from 5G new radio (NR), massive multiple input multiple output (MIMO), millimeter-wave (mmWave) frequencies, and over-the-air (OTA) test methods. Device makers must effectively overcome these challenges to reach commercialization faster than the competition. This paper includes useful tips to help manufacturers accelerate time to market across the 5G workflow and reach first-to-market status.
S-parameter matching is used to maximize gain and gain flatness in simple linear RF/microwave amplifier designs. This same S-parameter data is used to develop matching networks that address amplifier stability. This paper discusses the importance of using modeling for basic S-parameter and stability analyses in the gallium nitride (GaN) power amplifier (PA) design process. It also focuses attention on a simple two-port stability analysis derived from linear S-parameter calculations. The nonlinear Qorvo GaN power transistor model from the Modelithics Qorvo GaN Library, in combination with simulation templates and Keysight Advanced Design System (ADS) software.
Piletest uses Fischer Freedom™ in its Pile Echo Tester. Fischer Connectors first produced a prototype using Piletest’s oiled cable to test mechanical constraints, then two prototypes to test electrical constraints. Piletest’s specific requirements were twofold: their design engineers needed a solution that could easily be integrated into their device and their end users needed PET to be rugged, IP68-sealed, fully cleanable and ultra-easy to connect. As a result, Piletest chose the Fischer Freedom™ Series full connectivity solution.
Antenna beamwidth determines the expected signal strength given the direction and radiation distance of an antenna. The beamwidth will vary given several different factors such as the antenna type, design, orientation and radio frequency. This white paper presents a better understanding of beamwidth and how it influences a test environment is critical to accurate and repeatable tests.
A common question regularly asked to Knowles Precision Devices is “why not just integrate a filter in the board stack?” In short, there are manufacturing tolerances to consider, and size must also be considered. This white paper examines different 26 GHz filter manufacturing approaches with the specific design goals to better understand the importance of tolerance and size analysis.
EMI Filters are used to prevent electromagnetic interference in avionics and aircraft systems, as well as military shipboard/vehicle electronics, and in military communication systems. Electromagnetic interference can cause a complete loss of data in communications systems, or a simple decline in data quality.

Our engineer takes you into the features, benefits and markets for the new AR-5010 amplifier. The AR-5010 is a class A amplifier designed with optimized performance to support linearly modulated, multi-carrier waveforms with high crest factors. The AR-5010 is a part of AR Modular RF’s AR-5000 Series which is the next generation of wide-band, Class A/AB linear amplifier designed for use with modern digital modulations.
Digital Phosphorus Technology, or DPX, is a Tektronix patented acquisition mode that performs the hardware DSP processing and rasterizing of the samples into pixel information in order to reveal a greater amount of signal detail. It gives a truly “live” view of the RF signals, with its color-grading feature allowing users to see different signals at the same frequency yet separated by either time or power levels. In this video, DPX is demonstrated and reveals signals that your old spectrum analyzer might be hiding from you. You can literally see signals hidden beneath other signals!
This video introduces Skyworks’ new endeavors in unlicensed band technologies. Watch the video to learn more about the differences and similarities of LAA and eLAA technologies.
