Products and Markets
K&L designs and manufactures a full line of RF and microwave filters, duplexers, and subassemblies, including ceramic, lumped element, cavity, waveguide, and tunable filters. K&L supplies many of today's most significant military and homeland security defense electronics programs. Applications include satellite communications, radar, radio communications, fire control radars, telemetry applications, missile guidance systems, mobile radio base stations, and air traffic control and communications. Commercial products include high-performance receive and transmit filters, delay line filters, duplexers and diplexers, combiners, receive multi-couplers, wireless system assemblies for base station requirements, and lower-cost ceramic and lumped element parts.

Technical Expertise
K&L maintains a large staff of design and applications engineers with access to an extensive design library and a variety of software tools for approximation, synthesis, realization, analysis, and simulation. Two Applied R&D groups focus on developing advanced passive and active solutions for customer requirements. Specialized testing equipment, including high-power and high-frequency devices, assists with verification.

Manufacturing Savvy
K&L has been a pioneer in vertical integration in the filter industry and continues to set the standard. Numerous CNC machining stations are networked with CAD/CAM computing stations, allowing efficient transfer of data from one process area to the next. A new state-of-the-art plating facility, temperature chambers, vibration and leak testing equipment, laser-welding and laser-labeling devices, and 150 network analyzers support efficient flow of product throughout the company to meet delivery deadlines. In addition to significant investment in production and testing equipment, K&L streamlines production by teaming with customers to implement lean manufacturing and maintains a Dominican Republic manufacturing facility for high-volume, commercial throughput.
