With 60 years of measurement expertise, Keithley Instruments is a world leader in advanced electrical test instruments and systems from DC to RF. Its products solve emerging measurement needs in production testing, process monitoring, product development, and research.
Keithley’s measurement and technology platforms go beyond their industry-leading precision DC and current-voltage (I-V) products to include high-performance RF instruments and pulse measurement technologies. These instruments are designed for specific testing needs in RF measurement on semiconductor components and mobile communications products.
Keithley’s RF capabilities include a new innovative line of RF test instruments. With an unrivaled combination of high-performance, speed, flexibility, ease of use, and compact size, these instruments employ new approaches to test and measurement that enable users to save time, effort, and money. These new products will be used throughout the design, development, and manufacturing process, and they complement existing Keithley solutions sold in this market such as battery simulation sources, semiconductor characterization systems, and Source-Measure Units.
Keithley’s newest line of signal generators serve the mobile, wireless, and communications sectors. Major cellular formats are covered including GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, cdmaOne, and cdma2000, as well as analog modulation schemes including continuous wave, two-tone continuous wave, AM, FM, phase modulation, pulse modulation, and noise. Future product offerings will include a signal analyzer and a portable RF power meter.
Applications include mobile handset production testing, handset R&D and design verification, testing mobile communications infrastructure, RFIC testing, wireless connectivity (802.11x, WLAN, Bluetooth), and research and education in mobile communications.
Keithley also features an existing line of RF and microwave signal routing systems and switch systems. These products are used in testing cellular and cordless phones, base stations, specialized antenna systems, wireless peripherals, and RF components such as RFICs, as well as broadband wireless transceivers and high-speed digital communications including SONET speeds of 3 Gbps and 10 Gbps.
