Variable Attenuators for Broad Market Wireless Applications
Skywork’s new series of voltage-controlled variable attenuators (VVAs) are optimized for use as low distortion, analog attenuators. The SKY12232-21, SKY12233-11, SKY12235-11 and SKY12236-11 cover operation ranges from 1.45 to 5.0 GHz, and have a range of control voltages from 0 to 5.0 V.
With an excellent third order input intercept point and superb dynamic range, these VVAs are ideal for automatic power leveling/gain control circuits in 3G/4G LTE and WCDMA cellular base stations, IF chains, radar, and Satcom systems, as well as broad market wireless systems including military communication transceivers, S-Band radar, and VSAT. The attenuators consist of a pair of matched PIN diodes that terminate two ports of the internal 90-degree hybrid coupler, and are housed in a MCM 8-pin 4.9 x 3.2 x 1.0 mm package.
