EM De-Embedding Magic — Part I: What's The Problem, Anyway? By Dr. James C. Rautio; president, CEO, and founder; Sonnet Software, Inc.
Way back in 1986, when I was developing the method of moments software that we are selling today, I encountered (and overcame) many problems. One problem first became apparent when I was demonstrating prototype software at HP. When we compared the results to measurement, the differences steadily increased as we went up in frequency. The solution to the problem, which is described in this article, involved developing equations for EM calibration theory based on ANA calibration theory.
Haigh-Farr’s S-Band Flexislot is a thin, rugged, conformal antenna, designed to provide hemispherical pattern coverage. The Flexislot may be provided flat, or curved to naturally mate with cylindrical or conical surfaces.
Model DDH 4016 is a highly reliable, broadband dual-directional coupler ready for quick-turn and volume production. This unit, covering the 1- to 6-GHz frequency range, is rated at 250 W CW and is designed for use across multiple broadband test applications.
