Richardson RFPD Introduces New 360 W CW Power Limiter For UHF-Band Applications From MACOM

Integrates equivalent of 20 PIN, Schottky, limiter diodes, capacitors, inductors and resistors in a compact ceramic package

Richardson RFPD, Inc. announced recently the availability and full design support capabilities for a new power limiter from MACOM Technology Solutions Inc.

The MADL-011012 is a lead-free surface mount, high-power limiter, with an operating frequency range from 0.3 GHz to 1.0 GHz. It integrates the equivalent of 20 PIN, Schottky, limiter diodes, capacitors, inductors and resistors in a compact ceramic package.

The new device functions without DC bias and features insertion loss of 0.2 dB and return loss of 25 dB at 400–500 MHz. It provides 360 W power handling at 25 °C and flat leakage power of +20 dBm.

The MADL-011012 is ideal for high peak and CW power receiver-protector microwave circuit applications, including aerospace and defense, handheld communications and radar.

Additional key features of the MADL-011012 include:

  • +55.6 dBm CW power handling @ +25 °C
  • +54 dBm CW power handling @ +85 °C
  • RoHS-compliant, hermetically-sealed 10.1 x 6.2 x 3.2 mm3 package
