Virgin nonmagnetic raw materials are used are used in HUBER+SUHNER’s coaxial connectors and cables that are placed in the magnetic fields of MRI systems. Material purity is also ensured throughout the fabrication process. NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) systems typically require signal transfer through thermo isolation layers. Hermetically sealed coaxial connectors are useful there due to their strong mechanical design and leak rates of smaller than 4x10-10 Torr I/s. For heavy equipment installations such as MRI, HUBER+SUHNER offers fiber optic connectors, which unite 12 fibers in one housing. Lastly, corrugated cables can be integrated into MRI systems for the feeding of high power pulses for gradients.
