 Based on recent conversations I’ve had with cable and connector industry leaders, it is clear that the wireless telecommunication sector is driving demand for cable and connectors. This trend should continue as 4G LTE deployments continue in the United States and as the Asian Pacific region and other developing countries convert from 3G to 4G/LTE.
In an industry that is very sensitive to price vs. performance, cable and connector vendors are also getting more requests for custom cable and connector solutions without the custom price tag. One example of this would be system engineers wanting to extend the frequency range of inexpensive connectors like BNCs and TNCs to minimize system design changes. So if you need a custom cable or interconnect solution, ask your vendor if they can make changes to off-the-shelf designs to meet your specification.
