New Capture/Playback Function For Anritsu Spectrum/Signal Analyzers Creates Real-World RF Environments In The Laboratory, Production Line

MS2830 2690

MS2830A/MS269xA Series are Cost-effective Solutions to Validate Performance of Devices Used in Cellular, LMR, M2M, IoT, Automotive, and Satellite Applications

Anritsu Company introduces a unique Capture and Playback function for its MS2830A and MS269xA Spectrum/Signal Analyzer families that brings the most challenging RF environments from the field into the laboratory or production line. The new function gives engineers greater confidence when validating the performance of components and devices used in cellular communications, Land Mobile Radio (LMR), Machine to Machine (M2M), Internet of Things (IoT), automotive, and satellite applications.

The MS2830A and MS269xA platforms are distinctive in that they combine full-featured spectrum analysis, vector signal analysis and vector signal generation in a single instrument. With the push of a button, Capture and Playback allows design and manufacturing engineers to conveniently capture up to 100 MHz of spectrum and play it back at any designated frequency and amplitude, making it easy to determine device performance margins.

Capture and Playback applications include:

  • Validation/Production Test – The MS2830A and MS269xA can be used to initiate a communications link with a device under test (DUT) using handshake signals captured from a Golden Unit.
  • Device Characterization – Pre-distorted or non-ideal signals captured from an RFIC can be used as stimuli for characterizing amplifiers and other downstream devices or modules.
  • RF Interference/Electromagnetic Compatibility – Problematic RF environments or discrete signals - such as cellular or WLAN - can be captured and used to test a device’s susceptibility to RF interference, debug any problems found and validate the solution.

Leading Signal Analysis Performance
Anritsu’s MS2830A and MS269x Spectrum/Signal Analyzers with optional built-in vector signal generation are flexible, compact, single-box solutions for testing transmitters and receivers. They offer up to 125 MHz signal analysis bandwidth at frequencies up to 43 GHz, 120 MHz bandwidth vector signal generation at frequencies up to 6 GHz, and support for numerous wireless interfaces, including 2G/3G/4G cellular, Wi-Fi, ZigBee and Bluetooth. The 100 Msamples of signal analyzer memory translates to a 50s capture duration for a 1 MHz span and 5s for a 10 MHz span, enabling the simple capture and playback of complex sequences of signals.
