Modelithics And Qorvo To Expand The GaN RF Simulation Model Library

Modelithics, Inc. and Qorvo announced on May 14 plans to expand the Modelithics Qorvo GaN Library of high-accuracy, non-linear models for Qorvo transistors. The current GaN library version (v1.5) has 29 packaged and die transistor models. New plans include adding more than 20 new Qorvo GaN transistor models.

“This collaboration has allowed Modelithics to apply its many years of experience with model library software development to the benefit of Qorvo customers. Qorvo’s sponsorship of free distribution and support has enabled this high accuracy non-linear library to be quickly embraced and widely utilized by the international PA design community. Customers that also use Modelithics scalable CLR Library models for the passives in their matching and bias networks can get the best of both worlds in terms of simulation-based design success,” said Modelithics President & CEO Larry Dunleavy

The state-of-the-art non-linear GaN models feature temperature scaling, intrinsic I-V sensing capability, bias dependence, self-heat scaling factor parameter, and measurement validations including pulsed IV and load pull. Each model comes with a model datasheet, which provides detailed information about the model development, features, parameter settings and model performance plots.
