Hittite's 1W MMIC PA With Power Detector Covers 37 To 40 GHz
Ideal for High Linearity Point-to-Point/Multi-Point Radios, VSAT & SATCOM Applications
Hittite Microwave Corporation, the world class supplier of complete MMIC based solutions for communication & military markets, has launched a new Power Amplifier which is ideal for high linearity point-to-point and point-to-multi-point radios, VSAT and SATCOM applications.
The HMC7229LS6 is a four-stage GaAs pHEMT MMIC Power Amplifier with an integrated temperature compensated on-chip Power Detector, which operates between 37 and 40 GHz. Ideal for covering the 38 GHz licensed microwave radio band, the amplifier provides 24 dB of gain and +31.5 P1dBm output power while drawing 1200 mA from a +6V DC supply. With an excellent OIP3 of +40 dBm, the HMC7229LS6 is also ideal for linear applications such as high capacity point-to-point or multi-point radios or VSAT and SATCOM applications demanding +32 dBm of efficient saturated output power. The RF I/Os are internally matched and DC blocked for ease of integration into higher level assemblies. The HMC7229LS6 is housed in a ceramic 6 x 6 mm high frequency air cavity package which exhibits low thermal resistance and is compatible with surface mount manufacturing techniques.
The HMC7229LS6 complements Hittite's extensive line of Power Amplifiers which provide frequency coverage for all of the licensed microwave radio bands from 6 to 86 GHz. Samples are available from stock and can be ordered via the company's e-commerce site or via direct purchase order. Released data sheets are available on-line at www.hittite.com.
