Electromagnetic (EM) simulation has become commonplace for RF and microwave circuit designers. This viewpoint article examines current trends with regard to how designers use EM tools inside of circuit simulators.
These cavity filters cover a 100-MHz to 26.5-GHz frequency range, have a 50Ω input/output impedance, 0.3 to 50 percent 1-dB relative bandwidth, an average power of 10 to 300 W, and a working temperature of -45 degrees C to +85 degrees C.
