RF Adaptive Pre-Distortion In The PALM Of Your Hand
By Paul Kruczkowski, editor
Highly linear performance is an essential requirement for power amplifiers (PAs) applied to amplitude or multicarrier modulation schemes that are often used in video applications. Poor linearity distorts the video signal and results in unwanted power spilling into the adjacent channel, which is referred to as spectral regrowth or “shoulders.” Predistortion techniques that improve PA linearity with reduced back-offs, providing improved efficiency and in some cases allowing the use of lower-power parts to achieve performance goals. |

Designing Power Amplifiers For Broadband Applications
By Giga-tronics Incorporated
This white paper discusses the challenges in designing power amplifiers for use in broadband applications. Typically, the broader the bandwidth, the less output power. Degradation to the overall linearity and gain flatness can also be a problem. Solutions to these issues, and others, are explored in this paper.

Utilize Existing Test Equipment Using Wideband Frequency Convertors |
|
Wideband signals in radar and satellite communications systems use carrier frequencies that are beyond the direct synthesis and analysis capabilities of commercially available wideband RF instruments. With the SenarioTek ST1500 Series, engineers can instead apply a calibrated and optimized solution to extend the utility of existing low-frequency wideband test instrumentation. Learn more. |
