An Electrical-Thermal MMIC Design Flow
Source: AWRCircuit designers are in need of tools with integrated electrical-thermal analysis to address phase, gain, efficiency, noise, and intermodulation distortion impacted by a departure in assumed room temperature that electronic circuit designs are exposed to. MMIC designs can be especially problematic with DC currents flowing through smaller devices, inducing heating to two, three, or even four times greater temperature. This white paper discusses the advantages of an integrated electrical-thermal co-design flow.
