New Ultra Low Noise, Ultra Stable OCXOs From Precision Devices

September 28, 2010

Cambridge, UK -- At European Microwave Week, Precision Devices (www.pdixtal.com) has announced the OCXO-510, an ultra low noise and ultra stable crystal oscillator (OCXO).

The OCXO-510 series has a phase noise floor of -168dBc at 10 kHz. It offers excellent stability, and operates at a precision of only 0.0002ppm (or 0.2ppb – parts per billion) over a temperature range of 0 to +70C or 0.0005ppm at -20+70C.

The new device's low noise and high stability make it well suited to demanding high-end applications including telecoms base stations, PLL (phase locked loop) references for telecoms systems, microwave communications, radar and GPS.

The OCXO-510's package measures 50.8mm x 50.8mm. It provides a sine wave output at a frequency of 10 MHz.

Precision Devices is also introducing a second new OCXO at European Microwave Week: the OCXO-400 series are miniature oscillators for applications where size is important, measuring only 20.3mm x 20.3mm. The OCXO-400 series parts operate at frequencies from 8.192 MHz to 20 MHz, and provide high precision of 0.002ppm over a temperature range from -40C to +70C.

At the exhibition, Precision Devices will be showing its range of frequency control products, including sinewave OCXOs and high-end temperature compensated crystal oscillators (TCXOs) targeted at microwave applications.

European Microwave Week takes place in Paris, France, from 26th September to 1st October 2010. For more information see www.eumweek.com.
