UAV Market Soars To New Heights Despite DOD Budget Concerns
By Paul Kruczkowski, Editor
Concerns about U.S. debt and the congressional "supercommittee’s" inability to reach a compromise on required budget cuts have caused great anxiety in the RF/microwave design community about how the Department of Defense (DOD) budget will be affected. However, one bright spot in U.S. defense industry spending is the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) sector.

Counterfeits: Battling A Growing Problem
By Dale Lillard, Lansdale Semiconductor
Counterfeit parts are not just a DMS problem. While counterfeits are often found in the supply chain when a part is DMS, they are also common when a part is still available in the market. Still, the reality is if a legitimate component is not on the shelf at an authorized distributor when it is needed and for the same or a better price than it has been procured for in the past, then the component is often sourced outside authorized sales channels to meet the required delivery and costs.
