Novel Miniaturized Circulator Opens Way To Doubling Wireless Capacity

Since the advent of the integrated circuit in 1958, the same year the Advanced Research Projects Agency was established, engineers have been jamming ever more microelectronic integration into ever less chip real estate. Now it has become routine to pack billions of transistors onto chips the size of fingernails.

Overview Of Technologies For Millimeter-Wave OTA Measurement

As Over The Air (OTA) measurements become more important in 5G technologies, Anritsu proposes a new measurement method for solving millimeter-wave OTA measurements that solves the current Far-Field Measurement (FFM) challenges, and helps to reduce measurement costs. Based on actual measurement results, Anritsu's Near-Field Measurement (NFM) method is capable of offering improved measurement sensitivity. Anritsu also introduces an NFM solution for the E-band using Non-Linear Transmission Line technology. This white paper discusses how Near-Field Measurement technology works, the advantages of using it, and comparisons between NFM and FFM measurement results.

Spectrum Monitoring And Interference Analysis Using NI PXI

Interference has unfortunately become much more prevalent with an increasing number of transmitters coming on the air. Wireless service providers use spectrum analyzers to monitor their channels, frequencies, and adjacent spectrums to reveal the interfering signals. In order to increase the functionality and expandability of a spectrum analyzer for improved monitoring and interference management, NI (National Instruments) has paired their PXI hardware with the OASIS spectrum monitoring package to enable deployment of multiple spectrum analyzers with high throughput and improved services.

Accurate Testing Of Cellular And DAS Amplifiers

A properly installed and adjusted cellular amplifier or DAS can provide network coverage in problematic locations. It is important to analyze the signals that need amplification and adjust the amplifier using a test instrument to determine the right amount of gain. Paying close attention to antenna installation and the surrounding physical environment can help mitigate isolation issues, and isolation can be directly measured using proper portable test equipment.

Antenna Basics

This white paper describes the basic functionality of antennas. Starting with Hertz's Antenna model followed by a short introduction to the fundamentals of wave propagation, the important general characteristics of an antenna and its associated parameters are explained.

Radar Waveforms for A&D and Automotive Radar

This White Paper provides a more detailed view on radar waveforms for Aerospace and Defense and commercial radar systems. Waveforms such as pulse and pulse-Doppler signal, continuous wave and frequency shift keying waveforms are described.
