Corry Micronics’ RFMS-4X256-B is a 4 to 256 blocking RF switch matrix covering the 900-2500 MHz frequency range. It has a -8dB insertion loss, 50 ohms impedance, 10 dB return loss, +30 dBm P1dB, -80 dB isolation, and a 5µs switching speed (50% trigger to 10% RF power).

The QPD1009 and QPD1010 are discrete GaN on SiC HEMTs operating from the DC to 4 GHz frequency range. The QPD1009 is a 15W, 50V device with an output power level of 17W at 2 GHz, and a linear gain of 24 dB at 2 GHz. The 10W, 50V QPD1010 features an output power of 11W at 2 GHz and a linear gain of 24.7 dB at 2 GHz. These two devices are housed in low thermal resistance 3 x 3 mm packages, and are ideal for wideband or narrowband amplifiers, jammers, and for military radar, civilian radar, land mobile, military radio, and test instrumentation applications.

Within a typical year of operation, a transport aircraft is likely to be struck by lightning at least once or twice. Since lightning strikes are a safety hazard to aircrafts, a maintenance staff must visually assess any damage to ensure safe flight operations. NASA researchers have developed a wireless sensor technology that can be applied to lightning strike protection, damage detection, and damage diagnosis on the composite materials of today’s aircrafts. This article presents their process of using FEKO software in conjunction with optimizing and validating sensor designs in order to fast-track readiness for aircraft safety and commercial applications.

In 2001, scientists had proposed designs for both the single and multi-beam mmWave circulary polarized substrate lens antennas.
