The QPD1009 and QPD1010 are discrete GaN on SiC HEMTs operating from the DC to 4 GHz frequency range. The QPD1009 is a 15W, 50V device with an output power level of 17W at 2 GHz, and a linear gain of 24 dB at 2 GHz. The 10W, 50V QPD1010 features an output power of 11W at 2 GHz and a linear gain of 24.7 dB at 2 GHz. These two devices are housed in low thermal resistance 3 x 3 mm packages, and are ideal for wideband or narrowband amplifiers, jammers, and for military radar, civilian radar, land mobile, military radio, and test instrumentation applications.

Five Things To Consider When Choosing A Crystal Oscillator

Oscillators are used in most electronic systems for a variety of practices including digital clock synchronization, stabilizing an RF signal for a receiver or transmitter, and accurate time keeping in real-time clocks. The specifications for the system and how the oscillator needs to function will determine most of the parameters of the device. The LC or RC resonator will control the frequency and determine what stability specifications may be achieved in many applications, but the addition of a quartz crystal will greatly improve the frequency stability of the device by several orders of magnitude, often with a minimal cost impact.

PAM4 Demands Accurate S-Parameters

As high speed serial data rates advance from 15 Gb/s to beyond 50 Gb/s, we face a fundamental shift. Conventional logic-emulating NRZ (non-return to-zero) signaling is being replaced by PAM4, a 4-level pulse amplitude modulation scheme that takes half the bandwidth to transmit the same payload as the equivalent NRZ signal.
