XFDTD: A Versatile Full Wave EM Solver
July 14, 2006
XFDTD is a full wave 3D EM simulation package including tools for geometrical design and importation, materials specification, automatic and manual mesh generation, excitation and boundary specification, time domain solver, static solver, and a comprehensive set of features for selection and visualization of results. The excitation may be broad band or single frequency and the results for a single run are typically valid over the frequency range of the input.
A Wide Variety of Applications
The full list of applications for XFDTD is too long to cover in a few paragraphs. Some of the varied uses for XFDTD are antenna design, microwave circuit analysis, biomedical device design and acceptance, biomedical research, radar and scattering analysis, optical device evaluation, photonics, EMC/EMI, and materials research. Advanced capabilities and efficient ergonomics of XFDTD make it useful for both production and research environments.
Capable of Handling Very Complex Geometry
Advanced CAD File Importation
XFDTD's advanced modeling capabilities include the ability to import, mesh, and simulate with complex third-party CAD files. This includes a patented meshing algorithm, which inherently models the electromagnetically important features of the geometry without wasting resources on electromagnetically unimportant features. A wide variety of CAD file formats are supported, such as SAT, DXF, STL, ProE, STEP, IGES, and Inventor.
