As the sun sets on 2005, the staff at RF Globalnet thought it would be appropriate to dedicate our final newsletter of the year to the year itself. It has been an exciting 12 months in the microwave/RF industry -- one that really deserves a second look. Every week, it seemed, the R&D community achieved another technological breakthrough. WiMAX and other wireless standards passed important milestones on their march toward ratification and market acceptance. And there was a veritable feeding frenzy of merger and acquisition activity, culminating in this week's announcement that TI is acquiring RF transceiver and SoC supplier Chipcon.
