Endwave to Develop and Manufacture Millimeter Wave Transceiver Modules for SafeView's Passenger Screening Checkpoint System

Sunnyvale, CA -- Endwave Corporation, a provider of radio frequency (RF) subsystems for carrier-class, cellular backhaul and broadband wireless access networks, has announced the execution of a development agreement with SafeView, Inc., a privately held developer of a revolutionary security portal screening system, to develop and manufacture millimeter wave transceiver modules.

The portal system transmits ultra-high frequency, low powered RF (radio frequency) waves as people pass through the portal. The waves penetrate clothing and reflect off of the person's skin and any items being carried. A sensor array captures the reflected waves and uses a desktop computer to analyze the information and produce a high-resolution, 3-D image from the signals.

Under the agreement, Endwave will design and develop the millimeter wave module that transmits the RF signal and receives the signal reflection as an initial design phase of the development project. Following the design phase, Endwave will manufacture and supply prototype units of the transceiver module for design qualification and system testing.

"We are pleased to partner with SafeView on the development of a transceiver module that forms the core of this exciting new security system," said Ed Keible, CEO and President of Endwave Corporation. "SafeView's innovative holographic imaging technology and market focus combined with Endwave's RF design and manufacturing excellence are well matched to bring this exciting new product to market."

"Security has become a key ingredient in our daily lives, from airports to entertainment venues, and SafeView is addressing these concerns with our new technology based portal system," said Rick Rowe, CEO of SafeView, Inc. " As the millimeter wave transceiver module is a critical component for our portal system, Endwave is the logical choice as a strategic development partner given their market leading position as a supplier of millimeter wave transceivers."
