High Power Broadband Amplifier Meets The Needs Of Jamming Applications

100W RF amplifier

Amplifier Technology has introduced a new broadband, 100W RF amplifier designed for jamming applications. Combining the benefits of COTS availability for a lower installed cost with a rugged and reliable design, the 8813 broadband amplifier covers frequencies from 0.5GHz to 2.5GHz. The compact form factor means it is suitable for installation in both fixed and mobile applications.

Designed to boost the power of jamming units, the 8813 provides 55dB of gain across the frequency range, with minimum saturated output power (P_Sat) of 100W and minimal harmonics (-8dBc typical) or spurious signals (-80dBc typical). Built on Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology, the 8813 provides excellent power density and overall efficiency, with improved thermal transfer.

Of particular interest in military jamming applications, the 8813 covers the 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi and other mobile data communications standards, suiting it to use in jamming detonation signals to the improvised explosive devices that threaten military troops and convoys around the world, as well as terrorist attacks on civilian infrastructure and high profile events.

Rugged and reliable, the 8813 operates in temperatures from -40 to +80 degrees C, suiting it for use in the most demanding environments. The highly compact amplifier measures just 188x91x21mm for easy installation in even the smallest of spaces, and weighs just 800g. The 8813 operates off a standard 28V DC power supply.

At the forefront of GaN amplifier design, Amplifier Technology is working to address military requirements for counter-IED technology. Along with its wide range of COTS amplifiers, Amplifier Technology also provides bespoke manufacturing of tailored amplifier designs to meet specific customer requirements.
